Devin just finished up his basketball season at Temple. He loved playing for his school this time. He actually got to take the school bus to games and all! He loved the time with his friends, most of these boys he has been with since pre-school. I can't wait to see how they play together in 3-4 more years! Their season ended 10-2...pretty good for a six grade team!
He tried out for baseball but did not make it. Devin really did not care. He was only trying out to have something to do. He has not played baseball for four years. It is not one of his passions. 31 boys tried out for 14 positions, it was a 6th - 8th grade team. Four of his friends got on the team, which they deserved it. They love baseball and have played it since they could walk! Below you will see and wonderful picture of Devin. He did learn one thing....
Don't look away during catching practice! He looked away because someone called his name at the same time his practice partner released the ball. He actually got hit on the check, the threads from the ball cut him. His eye blacked up just because of impact. He looked real handsome for a few days :)
Work is crazy for me. It is the busiest time of the year with all the clubs going to competition...getting their travel plans (transportation, hotel, registration, etc.). Just as I get one group out, two more come back and making plans for the next level of competition. By the end of May they will all be off to National competitions. Our new building is coming along...which is also adding more stress. I can not EVEN imagine moving and all that will come with it in August. Our ribbon cutting and dedication is scheduled for August 18th and school starts August 24th! I have to more big luncheons, one March 11 and the other April 8th. Once I get pass those I will be doing better.
My mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary is this year. So, we are already trying to make plans and reservations for where we will have it!
Everything at the church is good, busy....but GOOD busy! I am so excited about the things we are doing at the church. I pray every day that the Lord will move and HE will see fruit for our labors. This Friday is Family Movie Night....so if you are reading this before COME! We will be watching "Facing the Giants"...wonderful movie!
Well...I best go. I would like to say-I love reading everyones posts. It is fun to peek into your world and see how you are doing. I pray for each of your families. You all have different obstacles you face. From new jobs and different home situations, childrens health and continued development concerns, new baby on the way, the love of watching your children grow (by the way-that does not stop at the little age...mine is in the YOUTH! Still amazed at him), new adventures (you go Myra!), home improvement, and the everyday Yeppies and Uh O's! We are all blessed by God's mercy and love.
Love ya'll
